The Strathspey Railway with its historic steam trains runs from Aviemore train station and the Aviemore Funicular (CairnGorm Mountain Railway) is 1 minutes' walk from the station. The station is 19 minutes' walk from the Aviemore Ring Cairn And Stone Circle, or you can take the 31, 34 or 38A buses, which depart from in front of the village hall. The 31 bus also goes to Cairngorm Reindeer Centre.
Trains to Edinburgh depart every 1 to 3 hours, depending on the time of day. There are also periodic trains to Inverness, Glasgow Central, London Euston and London Kings Cross.
