Edinburgh (Waverley) train station is set in the centre of the city, in between its Old and New Town.
It's a 10-minute walk up Castle Rock to the medieval Edinburgh Castle, and 12 minutes' walk from the University of Edinburgh. Airlink buses to Edinburgh Airport depart from outside the station (30-minute journey).
There are regular trains to Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central, and services to Dundee 2 or 3 times hourly. Trains to London Kings Cross depart once or twice an hour. There are also services to Bristol Temple Meads and Manchester Airport.
