Hull train station is set in the city centre, a 15-minute walk from the Old Town's pubs and museums.

Hull Arena ice rink and concert venue is 12 minutes' walk from the station. Buses to the KC Stadium, home of Hull City Football Club, depart from outside the train station and take less than 10 minutes. The University of Hull is around a 20-minute bus ride from the station.

Trains run to Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly around once an hour. Services also depart to York and London Kings Cross.
