Newbury train station is set just south of the town centre.

The town's racecourse is 20 minutes' walk from the station, or 2 minutes by rail to Newbury Racecourse train station. The grand, 5,000-acre Highclere Castle estate, where Downton Abbey was filmed, is 6 miles south of the station.

Trains run to Reading around twice an hour, and to London Paddington hourly. There are also services to Exeter St Davids and Plymouth.
